Projects Abroad is proud to be a certified B Corporation (or ‘B Corp’) which means we have joined the global movement of businesses committed to using business as a force for good.
The ‘B’ stands for Benefit for All.
What is a B Corp?
B Corps are companies that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.
We're proud to be part of this global movement using business as a force for good.
As at June 2024, there were 8,816 B Corp’s worldwide (only 50 in the travel category) including the likes of Patagonia, Intrepid Travel, Nespresso, Ben & Jerry’s, and The Body Shop.

Why Does Being a B Corp Matter?
It matters because it means we're committed to more than just profits. We're dedicated to our employees, communities, and our planet. B Corp certification is a rigorous process, proving our dedication to making a positive impact.
Greg Thomson, Chief Executive, Projects Abroad, on what it means to him: “I’m delighted that Projects Abroad has been certified as a B Corp. It gives global recognition to our efforts to make the world a better place through travel. I hope that customers and staff can take pride in choosing a B Corp, safe in the knowledge that they are making a positive impact.”
How Do You Become a B Corp?
It's not easy! To achieve B Corp certification, we underwent a comprehensive assessment of our social and environmental impact, covering areas like:
- Governance: How we make decisions and hold ourselves accountable.
- Workers: How we treat our employees and support their well-being.
- Community: How we engage with and give back to the communities we serve.
- Environment: How we reduce our environmental footprint and contribute to sustainability.
- Customers: How we create value for our customers and serve the greater good.
We met rigorous standards in all these areas and made a legal commitment to consider the impact of our decisions on all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
To become certified, a business needs to achieve a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and pass a risk review.
Certified B Corps are required to undergo reverification every three years.
